Let’s take a trip down memory lane to Fourth of July weekend 2022! Our adventure began when we both received an invite to Smith Lake from our mutual friends, Emma and Harrison Pride. Emma has been my best friend since middle school, and Harrison was fraternity brothers with Luke’s childhood best friend and roommate at the time, Jarett Bache. Jarett ended up not being able to make it that weekend, but luckily, Luke still came!
From our very first night together, we instantly clicked and had such a fun weekend. On our last night at the lake, Luke made a bold move, saying he’d come to Birmingham (where I was living at the time) to take me on a date. I honestly thought, “Yeah, right”! But a day after returning from the lake, he texted me, and true to his word, he planned a date in Birmingham.
We spent the next nine months navigating what I like to call medium-distance between Birmingham and Atlanta, until I made the move to Atlanta.
Fast forward to June 2024: after almost two years of laughter, love, and adventure, Luke popped the question during his family’s annual trip to Hilton Head Island, with a beautiful surprise—my parents and two of my best friends were there to celebrate with us! We had so much fun celebrating with both of our families.
We can’t wait to share this special journey with all of you at our wedding in April!
